Looking back - in very few words

I started this blog to share my experiences in USA. When I landed it was so enthusiastic, so thankful to Life to take me here, to the land of wonders and opportunities. But times has got too far since I opened this page. 2014 is so boring, Course works, assignments, new people, new friends, etc 2015 was an OK year. I got accustomed to US life, missed my parents too much... longed to save some money and get my semesters done so I could go back and take a nap at my mom's warmth. 

Finally, after many cruel hours of works, exams, booked my ticket, packed my back pack; reached Chennai. Tears rolled as I saw my parents and her waiting for me at airport :) such a nice feeling. Spent the new year and my birthday with my parents and started to US by Feb 04. Its  always good not to write then and there because after some time, It's good to remember the times - both good and bad. Thats what Life is. One should look back and evaluate, be thankful for everything. Success brings happiness and experiences, Failures teaches us good life lessons. Will continue to write some posts often, just to make my brain engaged.
After all it feels good to write once in a  while than just talking to yourself or listening to your mind always ranting about you. lol!

Infographic Design

happens always :P 

First off, I wanna thank my Data Visualization class professors for introducing me to the beautiful world of DataViz. such a wonderful area to explore and learn things in Data world. One of the class assignments was to create an infographic design of data.. so....wait... did I hear  you ask the question "what the heck is an infographic?"

Infographic???????????

well, in 'C' strcat('info','graphic') function call will return a string array 'infographic'. yes, it does. So, Infographic is one which tells information  graphically. It is really a fun and quick way to learn about a topic without a ton of reading. please refer Understanding Page Rank, How to be a SuperHero  and Geek vs Nerd link for some cool examples.

An infographic is,

• a data-rich visualization of a story or thesis
• a cool tool to educate and reform

With all the info about infographics, now the big question! Where to get the data and with what data should I create an infographic with???

Finally I ended up with this awesome website http://vizualize.me/. You can create really cool infographic designs with their many pre designed templates or you can create your own design and save it as a template. I chose to  design my resume to be an infographic with their already existing resume template.

Its bad that they did not come up with a solution to print or save they  infographic created by free users. Thats OK!  They need money for running business or for running servers at least :P but they can give a link of an icon that, when embedded in a web page will take you to your infographic page. Advantages of creating an infographic resume,

1. It shows that you know multimedia
2. It shows you are more that a writer
3. It illustrates your creativity
